Kurious — BT21 Toy App Concept with Interactive Motion

Kurious is a conceptual e-commerce app inspired by BT21 plush toys, designed to bring the soft, joyful feeling of hugging a plushie into the digital shopping experience.

The ChallengeMost toy e-commerce apps feel like functional catalogs—product lists, add-to-cart buttons, and little emotion. We wanted to create something where browsing feels as warm and playful as holding an actual plush toy.

Dual Theme ExperienceThe app features two fully designed visual modes that users can toggle between:

• Day Mode: soft pastel purples and pinks, with fluffy clouds, rainbows and stars floating across the background—like a picnic in the sky.
• Night Mode: deep starry blue with a crescent moon, evoking a bedtime-story atmosphere.

Switching between modes triggers smooth transitions—clouds drift, stars twinkle—mimicking the natural passage of time.

Gyroscopic InteractionThe centerpiece is gyroscopic motion. As users tilt or shake their phone:

• Background clouds shift with the device angle
• Characters wobble gently, as if alive in a plush world
• Product cards create a parallax effect, with foreground and background moving at different speeds

This physical sensing makes the screen feel like a living, breathing space—not just a flat interface.

Elastic Motion LanguageEvery tap, toggle and scroll uses spring-like easing curves, echoing the squishy, bouncy feel of plush material itself.
