Papumba Academy — Educational App for Kids

A playful, colorful learning app for children aged 2–6 — where every screen feels like a cartoon come to life, and learning happens through play.

Can you get published on uxdesign.cc? Yes — but don't just restate the theory.

That article's core point is simple: accessible design isn't charity for people with disabilities. It makes the product better for everyone. Captions were built for deaf users, but now half your viewers watch with sound off on the subway. High contrast helps visually impaired users, but it also helps you read your phone in direct sunlight.

You already have the material — use your own projects, not generic theory:

  • Papumba (kids' app): You designed oversized buttons, high-contrast cards, and clear navigation for 2–6 year olds. That's accessibility thinking from day one. A parent could even tell you their elderly relative uses it because small buttons are hard to tap — that's the "benefits everyone" principle in action.
  • Voyager (black & white): A pure black-and-white palette is inherently high-contrast and accessible. You can write about why you chose that restriction and how it forced better design decisions.
  • Nulo (dark UI): You can write the other side — how you balanced a dark premium aesthetic against readability standards, and where you drew the line.

How to write it so uxdesign.cc actually picks it up:

  1. Don't write a "what is accessibility" explainer — those are everywhere. Write from a real project you shipped.
  2. Lead with the problem, not the theory. Example: "We made the buttons too small in Papumba. A toddler kept tapping the wrong thing. We made them bigger — and then a parent told us her mom uses the app because small buttons are hard to press."
  3. Show before/after screenshots. Visual proof beats abstract arguments.
  4. Give the title a point of view. Not "Introduction to Accessibility." Something like: "We Built an App for 3-Year-Olds. Turns Out Grandparents Love It Too."
